Walking with Awareness

As you begin to practice Tai Chi walking, notice when your walking is disrupted.

In particular, does it come from your attending to it?

Can you attend to your walking and allow it to remain natural without interference, without your influencing it in any way.  This is wu wei, non-interference. Allowing things to be as they are.

You might find different words useful when doing this overtly simple practice.

Don't pay attention to your walking.  Rather gently let your awareness seep into it.

Notice that your awareness surrounds and suffuses you. Allow it to interpenetrate your body/mind as you walk.

As you walk, see if you can keep your awareness/attention on your whole body continuously.

Notice when your awareness/attention lapses and it rests on parts and not the whole. Gently allow awareness/attention to include the whole.

Notice that the umiverse spreads around you in all directions.  Gently allow your awareness/attention to include the whole, mind/body/universe. All in one.
